Upgrade weapons at the Cleanse Walker workbench or by choosing Enhance Weapons at a campsite, then spend Amber on the weapon you want to improve. When an enhancement reaches a hard cap, install or improve the relevant Bauera programming in the Cleanse Walker. Power is commonly the limiting Bauera stat, but Calculations and Knowledge can also matter.

Where to enhance weapons

The Cleanse Walker is the main upgrade hub. Interact with its workbench and open the weapon enhancement option, or use Enhance Weapons while resting at a campsite when that service is available. Both routes feed the same progression system, so use whichever is closest before a difficult encounter.

Enhancement improves Emma's melee and ranged equipment. GamesRadar notes that upgrades can raise direct damage and ammunition-related properties, depending on the item. Check the preview before confirming because a level on a weapon you do not use is still spent Amber.

What Amber does

Amber is the currency consumed by weapon enhancements. Treat it as a build resource, not something to distribute evenly across every item in the inventory. Your main sword should remain capable of handling routine enemies, while one favored ranged option gives you a safer answer to flying, distant, or dangerous targets.

If you are unsure which weapon will stay in the build, keep a reserve until you test its unique effect. The game contains swords and equipment with different properties, so a new drop may fit your playstyle better than a higher-level but poorly matched item. The best builds guide offers three coherent directions.

Why an upgrade becomes locked

A hard enhancement cap does not necessarily mean the weapon is finished. Further progress can require Bauera, programming installed in the Cleanse Walker. Its three relevant statistics are Power, shown in blue; Calculations, shown in yellow; and Knowledge, shown in green.

Power is often the first bottleneck reported in the launch guide, but do not assume every lock has the same requirement. Read the enhancement panel, note the missing colored statistic, and improve that part of Bauera. Exact cap levels for every weapon are To be confirmed rather than generalized from a single item.

How to improve Bauera

Search defeated golems and the remains or spoils associated with them. Strongboxes and valuables highlighted through Koo's environmental awareness are also important sources during exploration. Returning to the Walker with those resources turns exploration into permanent access to higher weapon tiers.

Do not rush through a large area only along the objective marker. Check side paths, elevated routes reached with Emma's hair, and containers Koo calls out. If a weapon is capped, the solution may be a Walker-programming resource rather than more Amber.

A practical upgrade priority

First, maintain the sword or close-range weapon used in nearly every fight. Second, improve the ranged weapon that supports your chosen skill path, especially if you invested in Tracking Shot. Third, spend on situational alternatives only when their special property counters a current region or boss.

This priority prevents a common problem: owning many partially improved weapons while none can reliably finish a difficult encounter. Damage is not the only consideration, but it is easier to judge status effects and utility when the base weapon is not far behind the campaign. Revisit the workbench before every Nushi and after finding a major new item.

What upgrades do not replace

Weapon levels do not replace skill upgrades, Spirit Stones, equipment synergy, or learning attack windows. Emma's damage matters, but Koo's Bloom Arts create control and openings that a number on a sword cannot. Keep both characters progressing instead of treating the workbench as the entire build.

Patch-sensitive costs, caps, and exact stat gains may change. They are To be confirmed for each weapon and game version. The reliable loop is: collect Amber and programming resources, inspect the requirement, improve the weapon you use, and test the result before spending again.
